Ensure optimal results by exclusively using Prosharp Bauer Advantedge grinding wheels with the Prosharp Bauer Advantedge skate sharpener. There are two types of wheels you will use when sharpening your skates: hollow grinding wheels and flat grinding wheels. Hollow Grinding Wheels: These are used to sharpen your steel to your preferred radius of hollow. If you're unsure which hollow to start with, we recommend using a ¾” wheel as a baseline. From there, you can try different wheels to find the hollow that best suits your playing style.Flat Grinding Wheels: These are designed to "reset" your blade. This process is important for prepping new steel or refreshing your blade if you damage your edges. On average, a grinding wheel will sharpen about 75 pairs of skates. Your Prosharp Bauer Advantedge skate sharpener will notify you when it’s time to replace the grinding wheel.
