Why do baseball players wear batting gloves? 

Batting gloves serve three main purposes:

How should batting gloves fit? 

A batting glove should fit like a second skin—snug and comfortable, but not so tight that it restricts your hand movement. There should be absolutely no loose material or extra space at the tips of your fingers or bunching in the palm. If the glove is too loose, your hands will slide inside the glove during your swing, defeating the purpose of the grip and causing blisters. 

What is the difference between leather and synthetic batting gloves?
